Golden Dolphin Festival – This annual festival held in February attracts both local as well as international visitors to Moscow as it unites active water enthusiasts and professionals all under one roof. It is a symbiosis of the art, sport, tourism and recreation. The visitors can buy everything related to water be it flippers or a massive yacht, they can even visit master classes of leading sportsmen. Maslenitsa Festival –This too, is an annual festival celebrated between 20th and 26th February. Maslenitsa meaning the Butter week is an old folk tradition which is now celebrated in the Christian tradition of Shrovetide pancakes. The week-long carnival that includes riding traditional troikas through the snow-filled streets, parades of Russian fairytale characters, open-air theatre, dancing, fireworks and folk songs keeps all happy and lively. As per the olden days each day of the week-long festivities has a specific theme: Tuesday — Popular Games; Wednesday — The Sweet Tooth’s Day; Thursday — The Lavish Day; Friday — Good Mothers’ Evenings and Saturday — Good Daughters’ Parties.
